It’s the 1st of January 2021 and I’m rough as a dog.
Can’t complain though. Had a fantastic night in with Anne-Marie and the boys dancing around like nut jobs to any old tunes that hit the TV.
Today I am mostly, as much as my head will allow, uploading tunes to the radio archives.
When I’m not playing live on the turntables – which is most of the time – the radio will be piloted by DJ’AP, our in-house radio robot. He keeps the playlists going 24/7 so you can tune in whenever you want, fully assured of genuinely good music.
I’ve uploaded about 500 tunes so far today and about another 2000 to go for a starter. I’ll then be sorting them into tags and playlists and sorting them for play time.
It’s a bit of a selfish radio station. I literally build it so I can hear what I want to hear on auto-pilot when I’m working in the office. It’s a great way to get familiar with new playlists and music without having to anything at all.
The main theme is breakbeat with funky and soulfull tones.
I don’t have the natural energy for dance music anymore – except for a bit of the darker sides of techno – so don’t expect much in the way of dance music. Put it this way, you’re more likely to hear Jazz and Motown than old skool bangers!
